ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
With this project, we want to give the chance to volunteers to be an active part in the sustainable transition that our society needs to go through. The volunteer will participate in the animations and workshops for youngsters and help in different tasks: communication, promotion of our eco-boutique « Resilience & Co. », logistics, discovery of environmental awareness, help in the mushroom growing project, etc. Each activity will be given according to the volunteers goals, which will be setup at arrival. The volunteer will work with our staff and the other volunteers, in order to organize the agenda and the preparations for all the activities.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
Accommodation, food and transport will be provided by IDC. The volunteer will stay at an appartment in Carcassonne (in a shared room), 200m from the eco-boutique. The food for all the volunteers is bought twice a month, usually one of them takes the responsability of the shopping and food management. We are mainly vegetarian and we don’t consume industrial/artificial food. Also, we have different food labs and workshops to learn how to prepare more things by our own.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
At the arrival, the volunteers will experience a week of a non-formal Arrival Training, in which we will share different workshops related to the principales and values of the cooperative. And there is also a mid-term training, monthly meetings and weekly workshops about different topics related to live in community and environmental impact. Also, each volunteer will have the chance to learn more about specific topics such as client service,sustainable development, communications, social media, photo and video, cooking, according to their interests and will to learn from our staff.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
We are looking for volunteers interested in organizing activities, sustainability and ecology. We have communal activities like cooking and cleaning; and others such as logistics, administrative tasks, communications and social media, contact with other associations and providers. Some characteristics for the profile are: – Open-minded and with will to learn from new experiences. – Autonomy towards responsabilities. – Initiative to propose and go to action, creativity, proactivity. – Adaptable. Teamwork. Basic french is asked!
