Volunteer Testimonial || Danilo Marletta

Hello, I’m Danilo!

I’m 29 years old and I came from Sicily, Italy. Now I’m living in the Camping LeBelvedere in France. This is not my first experience abroad, I’ve already done different experiences around Europe. Before coming here, I just left my temporary house, my job in a restaurant, and my friends.. and it was one of the best choices that I made in my life. I was imagining many things and of course, I was a bit scared about it but since the first day here I felt at home. I’ve already learned many skills about building using recycled materials, the garden, and the common life with many guys from different nations.
In just one month, I had much time even to discover better myself just surrounded by nature and Pyrenees. It’s amazing and I feel really happy about my project.
There is always something to do to be useful, you can cook for everybody some special recipes from your country or just share nice moments. We also make many workshops with many professional workers and it’s a great opportunity to learn new knowledge.
I like animals and here there are donkeys and ponies which are so beautiful and the pigs are so sweet and it’s wonderful to give some piece of bread to our chickens ( they walk free around all the camping).  I will spend six months here, so I just start now my experience and I’ve already start to work on myself. I’m sure that in this place I can change my life because I have the opportunity to reflect more about my actions, also try to reduce my impact on the earth and have enough knowledge for creating my own space in the future..so this experience can help me to open my mind definitely!
