And experience for the actors.actresses of change!
This is our second volunteering team project: Hands-On Resilience. 16 volunteers from different countries and cultures: Romania, Greece, Italy, Belgium, Sweden/Afghanistan, Ireland and France. A group that stayed for 45 days together to reflect and be more active in these resilient times!
The project
Scientists and nature have already spoken: we must change our habits and go for an ecological transition
now! Human impact has caused a lot of damage to the environment, endangering biodiversity
and the health of all species, including us. Now is the time to try an alternative life, more ethical and
in harmony with nature. The current concept of comfort and the overconsumption of our society are
not aligned with the concept of sustainability. That’s why we wanted to give volunteers the opportunity to
experience a more resilient and autonomous way of living, giving them the space, the tools and the
knowledge to discover that they too can be part of a positive change for the world!
This project was a practical experience, with hands in the action and learning by doing, but also
a moment of introspection for everyone, in order to discover and analyze our feelings about climate
change and the Anthropocene.

Our volunteers
Hey, I’m Lucas and I’m 19 years old. This mission is actually my third one. I honestly cannot get enough of all the things that you get from volunteering. And even though the aim of this mission is completely different, I’m also learning every day with this project. In fact, being in the middle of the nature and learning about resilience is very enriching in a lot of ways. (France)
My name is Marilou, I am 24 years old. I am currently in a gap-year because I was not really sure of the plan I had imagined for my future and because I would like to get closer to a way of life in line with my values and in connection with the living. (France)
Hi there! I am Giada, I am 22 and I am from Italy. I joined this project because I love being in nature and I wanted to experience community life. So far, it has been great! Besides learning a lot about sustainability and climate change, I get the chance to take care of the animals. Moreover, I think it is a good way to reconnect with myself and the environment around me. I am very thankful for this opportunity.
My name is Shakila Rezaei. I am 22, I am from Afghanistan but I live and coming from Sweden as Swedish team. I studied law and diplomacy in Afghanistan and I’m currently student in Sweden. I am very happy to include a useful program for young people with Rasmus at France., This is my first experience as Volunteering. I have learning and experience many things from the beginning until now and I have been introduced to very dear and kind friends from different countries and we have a very good family and friendship I hope that we will have a great achievement together at the end.
Hi, I’m Julien I come from Belgium. I join the team to change my routine life, I work in a polluting company and it was starting to contaminate me also. So I wanted to see what is it to experiment a life closer to the nature but especially to others people who are sharing the same vision of life.
I am Ujep, north of Italy, very north! In the German speaking part of Italy I grew up in a valley where we speak the minority language LADIN (my name Ujep = Joseph).
Here in this place and in other exchanges I discoverd that what is logical for me is not always logical to others. Greetings.
I am Riccardo, from Italy. I am 25 years old and and a former mathematics student.
Ths experience is really valuable to me, making me feel good living in a different way. The lacks in comforts are easily forgotten since nothing of what is really needed is missing. I love the nature here around: from the pigs (taking care of them is satisfactory) to the landscapes (which are exactly the one I can enjoy watching and walking through). Coming here also tought me how much I enjoy living in community!
Hello I am Raphael i am 28 and i come from Belgium but I’m currently living in a farm in Spain. I am passionate about nature and passionate about what we can do to save our future. I believe that our positives actions can inspire others and maybe create a new sustainable dynamique. That s the reason i joint this project, to debate about differents actual topics and learning from the different perspectives and opinions and develop my own believes.
Hi! My name is Irene and I’m a 25 years Italian girl who decided to “take a break” from the city and have a volunteering experience at IDC, at “Le Belvédère” Camping, with the European Solidarity Corps.
Enjoying the eco-community life made me discover the values of caring and reciprocity towards nature and human beings.
Hii ! I am Louise, I am 22 and I am from France.I have decided to join this project to experience a more resilient lifestyle and the community life while learning a lot about permaculture, animals, sustainability and climate change.I think this project is really introspective and had a huge impact on me because I had the opportunity to learn more about myself, to reconnect with the nature that surrounds me and to meet a lot of people from different countries and, in my opinion, these connections are the most enriching.
Hello! My name is Vaso, I’m 22 years old and I come from Greece. At first I came here for a youth exchange and I fell in love with the camp. So I decided to come back to fully experience community life in an beautiful environment that is all for sustainability and eco living.
My story started when I decided that I wanted to join this magical place for my short term volunteering project (2 months), as a metamorphosed journey inwards – but halfway through this period, I was already madly in love with the existing synergy between people from different continents, animals & nature – so I decided that I need more time to explore both the new feelings that I was experiencing & the surroundings:)
Luckily enough, I was able to join this project for another 45 days & discover new people, new perspectives, new lifestyles, a new version of myself, while getting my hands dirty & practicing my quite limited transversal skills! (Cristiana, Romania)
