Volunteer Testimony || Bianca Rêgo

Olá!

I’m Bianca Rêgo, a Brazilian filmmaker that loves everything related to art. My job and my hobbies mixes all the time because I love watching films, going to art expositions, playing the flute or making any kind of art. I’m also an avid traveller that lived in 5 different countries and with the hopes to live in many more.

Here at IDC I can put my creativity in action daily by producing videos and photos for the project’s social media. I also love taking care of the animals around, mainly the dogs and sheeps (so adorable beings!). I am super happy with all my volunteering experience so far. I truly can say that I’m living the best days of my life.

I appreciate so much all the amazing people that crosses my path at the campsite, all the interculturality exchanged excites me and makes me go to sleep with gratitude for being alive and here.

When I applied to this volunteering position, all I had in mind was about the opportunity to have my first job experience in France and learning French. And, although I am growing so much in my career, I am also making life changing connections and discovering myself more and more everyday.

The people here is what makes the place special, so my expectations for the rest of my volunteering are that we continue to choose the right people to come and, besides that, I hope to speak French in a conversational level. Plus improve my filmmaking skills by producing a meaningful short-film as a personal project.

For my life after the program, I want to continue living in France once I fell in love with the french culture and I believe there are great opportunities here in the audiovisual field. I hope to make films as a career and never stop creating. For me, the most important thing in life is helping people in direct ways, through volunteering, for example, but also indirectly through my films.

I’m very thankful to Alicia for choosing me to be a part of this community! I highly encourage everyone to apply for any ESC volunteering opportunity, I’m sure it will be a core memory in your life 🙂
